In recent weeks, COVID-19 has dramatically impacted schools, teachers, students, and families around the globe. With closures, thousands of educators, both professional and parental, have been working tirelessly to support their students and keep them learning from home.

To support youth literacy during this tumultuous time, our portfolio company Epic, the leading digital library for kids ages 12 and under, is offering FREE worldwide Remote Student Access through the end of the school year (June 30th, 2020). This program gives kids access to the full Epic library, anywhere, anytime, and teachers can stay connected to their students by assigning books, then tracking reading activity and progress.

What does the Remote Student Access experience include?
The Epic library has over 40,000 e-books, audiobooks, learning videos, and quizzes, with materials in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Students can either log in via a web browser on a computer or using the Epic app on iOS or Android. The apps are free to download from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Educators can assign a book, or collections of books, to an individual student or to their entire class. Then, educators can monitor their students’ reading activity via their student reading logs.
