COVID-19 Edition: Neo Health Insurer Elma Offers Digital Primary Care App for Free to Help HR Teams Take Better Care of their Employees

Since the emergence of Coronavirus, we at Elma have been evaluating different ways to help Spanish society cope with the crisis. 

Our goal is to create a healthcare system that puts people at the center, which we provide through our health insurance business. For this reason, we have developed a platform with proprietary technology and with our own healthcare staff (specialists, GPS, nurses, etc.). Our members not only have access to the usual and commoditized health insurance coverage that includes a huge network of specialists and hospitals, but they also have access to a platform that brings together different tools focused on prevention and care, empowering the member to have control of their own health, anywhere and at any time. 

One of these tools is our Digital Health Care Service (DHCS). Through a video call or chat, our users can consult with our own team of doctors without leaving the sofa. Once the member has made a consultation, our health assistant is in charge of managing any needs related to the member's health, from scheduling an appointment in a hospital, to ordering medication prescriptions, to answering any follow-up questions. In this way, our users are always accompanied and have all the information related to their health in one place. They have access to a team that knows them by their first name and can deliver truly personalized care.  

We are proud to now offer the DHCS app for free to companies so that their employees can talk remotely through chat or video with our healthcare team during this tumultuous time. The initiative is already a success - we have incorporated more than 110 companies in the region and over 150,000 employees as of this week. 

There is nothing better in life than helping others. Seldom do people have the opportunity to help society in a situation as challenging as this war against COVID-19. The effort of our entire team - from our healthcare team of doctors, to our tech team, to our support staff - who have been working from home with energy, passion, and love for people in need, is simply exemplary. Each and every one of them are heroes. This lesson in professionalism is truly inspiring, and I am so proud to be a part of this team.

We are in this together, and we will get through it if everyone does their part. It is our honor to be able to do ours.
